Lucis Trust
The idiom’s standing institution. Incorporated 1922; Arcane School from 1923.1
Documented core
Lucis Trust (first the Lucifer Publishing Company) is the publishing and training body Alice and Foster Bailey built for the Hierarchy teaching. Of the four idioms, this current produced the most enduring institution.
Held-open / discard
The “Lucifer Publishing” origin is a documented name, drawn from the Theosophical magazine Lucifer (“light-bearer”), and is a staple of conspiracy readings. It is recorded here as fact and explicitly not treated as evidence of a coded collective — the hard sourcing rule forbids that move.
The other staple of those readings is the United Nations tie, and it too resolves to a mundane fact. Lucis Trust’s World Goodwill holds NGO consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) — a standing accreditation shared by roughly 6,494 organizations (as of end-2024), conferring advisory participation, not operational control. That a body with an esoteric doctrine holds the same common accreditation as thousands of charities is documented; the reading that Lucis Trust “runs” or is the “spiritual foundation of” the UN is the conspiracy corpus’s inflation of a routine NGO status, and is refused here (the denominator error the hard sourcing rule exists to catch).
